The Beauty of Simplicity: 6 Simple Ingredients to Fuel Your Dog

When choosing foods to fuel our lives, we want the finest, freshest, and most delicious ingredients available. Shouldn’t the same go for our furry friends? With the dog treat market more saturated than ever, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with what the heck to toss Fido. At Nature’s Animals, we believe you should feel confident about what you’re giving your pup, no second-guessing if he’s getting the best or not.

We understand that what goes into our dogs’ bodies is just as important as what goes into ours, so you can rest assured that when you choose Nature’s Animals you’re choosing the finest, U.S. sourced, all-natural, human-grade ingredients in every tasty treat!

These 6 simple ingredients are how we’ve pioneered the finest in dog biscuits over the past 30+ years.

1. PROTEIN

Real protein from meat, fish, peanut butter, or cheese is an essential part of healthy dog treat ingredients. Protein helps support a dog's overall growth and development, and aids in maintenance of their muscles, bones and other tissues.

Fun Fact: The body cannot store protein, so it requires a constant supply. We are happy to report: So far, we’ve had no dogs complain.

At Nature's Animals, we know your pup's taste buds are top-notch, so we've made sure our  Original Bakery Biscuits and other goodies are packed with delicious protein flavors like peanut butter, chicken, lamb, cheese, and beyond. Let your furry friend be the judge and choose their favorite protein for our handmade dog biscuits. Who says dogs can't be foodies too?

2. Vegetables

Carrots are an incredible root vegetable that are rich in minerals and vitamins like beta-carotene. They have a significant amount

of insoluble fiber, which helps regulate stool, and the vitamin A and antioxidants alone can help improve skin and coat. Organic, fresh vegetables, like carrots, bring big flavor and texture to our dog biscuits, just take a look at the carrot pieces in our Carrot Crunch dog biscuits!

3. Whole Wheat

Whole grain is dried wheat seed. It is used as a natural source of carbohydrates to give your dog an organic, healthy energy source.

*Disclosure: The whole wheat is not responsible for crazy puppy zoomies. That is simply how much your pup loves our tasty treats.*

Whole wheat is a nutrient-dense source of fiber (much like #4 below!) but it is also a healthy source of vitamin A, tons of B vitamins, vitamin E, iron, magnesium, and selenium. Even more, grains like whole wheat are great for digestion and provide healthy gut bacteria. Check out our Doggie Donuts!

4. Wheat Bran

Bran is a staple ingredient in many of our dog treats for

good reason. This tiny but powerful ingredient has significant quantities of protein, iron, fatty acids and B-vitamins. It is also rich in fiber, which comes with an entire list of gut-helping benefits, such as digestional transit. Bran is the magical little seed shell responsible for healthy, solid number twos! 5. Brown Rice

Ground brown rice is another great source of fiber for our furry friends, boasting many of the same health benefits as other whole grains. It helps aid in digestion (yay for more solid poops!), it's a great source of vitamin D and B, which promote a healthy heart, and it contains high amounts of iron, calcium, riboflavin, and tons more minerals that are

    • beneficial in dog diets.

Brown rice is also all-natural and less refined or processed. This makes it the perfect alternative to white rice, and ups the ante on nutritional benefits. Delight in the knowledge that you can provide wholesome nutrition with this delicious addition to your dog’s treats! Check out our featured Gourmet Select Organic Mini Bones today.

    6. Parsley

It's more—much more—than a way to freshen up doggy breath.

Curly parsley is a great source of chlorophyll, and chlorophyll has a lot of benefits for dog health. It supports red blood cell production, it can help boost your pup’s immunity, increase oxygen and even promote digestion. Plus, we use parsley as one of our 6 key ingredients because it’s low in calories (fight #petobesity, anyone??) and full of Vitamin A, C, and K, and acts as a powerful antioxidant.

All of these wholesome, delicious ingredients are blended together using only, all natural preservatives. We use corn oil preserved with mixed tocopherols in our line of wholesome dog biscuits as opposed to artificial preservatives.

Fun Fact #2: Tocopherols are derived  from Vitamin E in different forms and you can find them in many foods humans eat regularly like vegetable oils and seeds.

For over 30 years, we’ve made it our mission to keep it simple (and tasty) when it comes to dog biscuits.
      • No fillers.
      • No artificial preservatives.
      • No unnecessary ingredients.

Just wholesome, human-grade foods that are paw-licking good. Our handcrafted treats are made with love in small batches to ensure the freshest, most flavorful experience for your pup.
